Rebecca's one of those types who never seem to mean what they're saying, not because of dishonesty, but because of lack of self-knowledge and security. Enid's partner in crime is Rebecca (Scarlett Johannson), who has one foot in the offbeat world Enid inhabits, and the other foot in the mainstream world Enid loathes. I desperately wish I were more like Enid when I was in high school. Picture a female, proactive version of Holden Caulfield. She has her own style, speaks her razor sharp mind, and truly doesn't care what people think about her. ![]() The character of Enid (memorably played by Thora Birch) is a sardonic iconoclast, and a bit of a hero to me. Terry Zwigoff has created an excellent parable about disaffected youth in "Ghost World". ![]()

That is bad, though it could also maybe be good. This eventually turned him into a cult leader at an East Coast college town. For example, she tells von Linden, the cruel Nazi commander that by being absent on the day she is being tortured, the commander had missed ‘a rather good show’ (Wein 49). This could be misconstrued as stupidity in her part since being cutting towards a tormentor may result in increased torture. Moreover, Julia has a feisty attitude toward her tormentors. ![]() Although she might misdirect readers with her opening remark claiming that she is a coward, if Julie’s action are anything to go by, then one realizes that she is indeed courageous enough to even doubt herself. While loving the game might be considered a prerogative for all spies in the business, but in comparison with other spies, Maddie, her best friend, says that Julie loved it more than most. This is proven by her fascination with adrenaline activities such as jumping from airplanes. She in fact openly says how she has love for espionage, dangerous as it may be and even glorifies it calling it ‘the great game’.
